The private bank Coutts has reversed its decision to appoint James Todd, a former equerry to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as its new head of coverage.
The withdrawal of the job offer occurred late last year, coinciding with the period when Andrew was stripped of his royal titles.
This represented a significant U-turn for the lender, which had publicly announced Mr Todd's hiring just four months prior in July.
Both Mr Todd and Coutts attributed the decision to the "business fit" not meeting their original expectations.

Mr Todd served as a formal assistant to the former prince between September 2006 and 2008, a role typically filled by Armed Forces officers. Prior to his equerry duties, he had a decade-long career in the Royal Marines from 1998 to 2008.
His subsequent move into finance saw him work at Barclays for more than ten years, followed by an 11-month stint at JP Morgan.
Notably, Mr Todd's LinkedIn profile makes no reference to his time working for Andrew.
The position at Coutts would have seen him join as a managing director, reporting directly to chief executive Emma Crystal.
When Coutts initially revealed the appointment in July, the bank highlighted Mr Todd's "extensive experience" serving ultra-wealthy clients as a significant asset for the business.
The role would have placed him in a senior position within the organisation's leadership structure.

TheWealthNet revealed Mr Todd would no longer be taking up the position.
In a joint statement addressing the reversal, both parties acknowledged that the professional alignment had not matched their initial expectations, leading to the mutual decision to abandon the planned appointment.

Mr Todd expressed his admiration for the institution despite the outcome. "I have the highest regard for Coutts and its long heritage in private banking.
"While the business fit proved different from what we had both anticipated, I have appreciated the constructive dialogue throughout and wish the bank every success in its continued growth," he stated.

A Coutts spokesperson confirmed that following constructive discussions, both sides amicably agreed the arrangement was not as originally envisaged.
Andrew has faced increasing scrutiny regarding his connections to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Buckingham Palace announced in October that he would lose his royal titles and vacate Royal Lodge in Windsor, following claims he had misled the public about the duration of his relationship with Epstein.
