A Buckingham Palace source has told GB News that allegations against Prince Andrew should be examined in an appropriate way.
It comes as the Metropolitan Police is “actively looking into” the allegations that Andrew asked his taxpayer-funded bodyguard to investigate his sex accuser Virginia Giuffre.
An insider additionally told Sky News that the Royal Family believes allegations against the prince "should be examined in the proper and fullest ways".
Newly uncovered emails from 2011 suggest the prince told the late Queen Elizabeth II’s deputy press secretary that he had passed sensitive personal information about Mrs Giuffre to his taxpayer-funded bodyguard.

The exchange is believed to have taken place just hours before the release of the well-known photograph showing Andrew with his arm around the then-17-year-old at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London home in March 2001.
Following the claims, the police confirmed to GB News that they are now reviewing the situation.
A spokesman told the People's Channel: "We are aware of media reporting and are actively looking into the claims made."
Mrs Giuffre's posthumous autobiography is being released this week, despite her death in April earlier this year.

Prince Andrew has repeatedly and firmly denied all allegations brought against him by Mrs Giuffre.
On Friday, amid the chaos and scandals engulfing the House of York, Prince Andrew announced he would surrender the use of his Duke of York title and membership of the Order of the Garter, Britain's most ancient chivalric order.
In a rare public statement, Prince Andrew said: "In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family.
"I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first.

His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has also been stripped of the use of her "Duchess of York" title under the same decision.
As a result, Fergie has removed any mention of her former "Duchess of York" title on social media.
Their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will continue to hold their royal titles.
Both are styled as HRH Princesses because they are the daughters of the son of the late monarch.
