The Celebrity Traitors winner is not happy with the omission

Alan Carr has taken aim at King Charles after what he called “another slight” after being snubbed from the New Year's Honours List.

The dig came in a chat at the beginning of a podcast he co-hosts with his friend Lee Peart.

In the segment, the pair were speaking on the opening months of the year, Mr Peart said we “expect” January to be awful, but February is worse, and he finds it a “little bit dreary”.

Speaking on the month of January Mr Carr said: “"Hey, that's another thing that p****d me off about being January. New Year's Honours List; another year, another slight!

“Surely, I've been in showbiz for 25 years. I do loads for f*****g charity. Nothing. I do this podcast with you.”

Mr Peart responded with a question asking whether an MBE “comes first”, to which Mr Carr replied: “Oh no; skip that. I want knighthood.”

His co-host hit back, claiming you can’t “skip” the honour.

To which the TV personality hit back stating: "You can! Oh yeah, you fast track, babes. Honestly, I'll fast track!”

The irony of the comments was not missed by Mr Peart, who pointed out that it was “spoken like a true potential knight!”

Idris Elba was one of those who did receive a knighthood from King Charles for his dedication to supporting young people across the UK.

Upon recieving the honour, Sir Idris said: "I receive this honour on behalf of the many young people whose talent, ambition and resilience has driven the work of the Elba Hope Foundation.

"I hope we can do more to draw attention to the importance of sustained, practical support for young people and to the responsibility we all share to help them find an alternative to violence."

Fellow actor, Warwick Davis, also received an OBE in the list, for his services to drama and charity.
