Tensions have escalate between the Trump administration and the prestigious university over various policy matters

Sebastian Gorka has launched a scathing attack on Harvard University, accusing the institution of "selective enforcement of free speech" principles that "discriminate against conservative and pro-American voices."

His comments come as tensions escalate between the Trump administration and the prestigious university over various policy matters and campus culture issues.

Gorka told GB News: "Ask Charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro about how their freedom of speech is vouchsafe on the campus quad at Harvard, and why either they're disallowed when they're invited or they have to roll up with 50 man security crew simply because they're what?

"Not promoters of Hamas or Hezbollah. So, you know, the the freedom of speech argument is specious because they don't believe in freedom of speech if you're a conservative or if you're pro-America or if you like wearing a red MAGA hat.

"And secondly, freedom of speech. But why do you get to say that you have the right to billions of dollars of taxpayer funds if you're going to spout absolutely un-American, outrageous, genocidal tripe on your campus?

"So no, both of those arguments are completely, completely garbage."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

A US court has temporarily halted the Trump administration's visa restrictions affecting Harvard's international student programme.

On Thursday, District court judge Allison Burroughs directed the administration to maintain the "status quo" and allow Harvard to continue hosting international students on visas.

The judge told the Department of Homeland Security and State Department not to make any changes to Harvard's student visa programme indefinitely.

Burroughs instructed Harvard's lawyers and justice department representatives to work out an agreement to prevent the revocation of the student visa programme for the time being.

"It doesn't need to be draconian, but I want to make sure it's worded in such a way that nothing changes," she said during proceedings.

The judge expressed particular concern that potential Harvard students abroad have been unable to obtain visas from some US embassies since last week, according to Harvard's sworn statements presented to the court.

This development has created uncertainty for international applicants seeking to study at the university.

The Justice Department indicated this morning that the case may become moot due to the administration's latest procedural move to delay consequences for Harvard.

However, the temporary injunction ensures that no immediate changes will affect the university's ability to host international students whilst broader political pressures continue to mount.

The court intervention provides temporary relief for Harvard's international student programme even as the Trump administration maintains its broader campaign of pressure against the institution on multiple fronts.
