Several prestigious universities have confirmed multiple revocations among their international student populations

Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States, has told GB News that foreign student visas can be revoked "at the stroke of a pen" for those supporting terrorist organisations.

Speaking to The Peoples Channel, Gorka explained that whilst the US has constitutional protections for freedom of speech under the First Amendment, these rights do not extend to foreign nationals who are "guests" in the country.

The Deputy Assistant to Donald Trump explained: "We're the only nation in the world to have it. We have enshrined in our constitutional order an amendment to the First Amendment, which is the freedom of speech. Now, of course, there are limits to that.

"You can't incite violence against a specific individual or group. But we cherish our freedom of speech.

"Nevertheless, if you are a foreigner, you are a guest of this nation. You are required, by US law, as Secretary Rubio, as the president has pointed out again and again and again in statute, to abide by the requirements that impinge upon your being a guest in our country.

"As such, if you are supporting terrorist organisations, if you are promoting genocidal ideologies, I'm sorry, the revocation of your right to be a guest in our nation is just at the stroke of a pen.

"Because, again, you are not a US citizen, you're a guest of this nation.

"And if you are supporting genocidal activities, if you are sympathising with terrorist organisations responsible for the deaths of hundreds and thousands of innocents, then you cease to enjoy the guest's rights that are incumbent upon somebody who is here under a certain visa status.

"So, it's the same as if a person was invited into your home and then started to invade against you or destroy your property.

"That guest has no right to stay in your home."

Several prestigious universities have confirmed multiple revocations among their international student populations.

Earlier this year Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a zero tolerance policy towards foreign nationals who support what the administration designates as terrorist organisations.

"The United States has zero tolerance for foreign visitors who support terrorists. Violators of US law — including international students — face visa denial or revocation, and deportation," Rubio wrote on X in March.

More than 300 international students across the United States have had their visas revoked for supporting Hamas or other designated terrorist organisations, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Harvard University has won a temporary win in its battle to enrol international students, after the Trump administration appeared to backtrack on its original decision to decertify the university. A federal judge also upheld a block on the government’s order.

The Department of Homeland Security announced on Thursday that it will now give Harvard 30 days to prove it meets the requirements of the Student and Exchange Visitor Programme (SEVP), which allows universities to host international students and academics on visas.
