Donald Trump is being sued for $250million in a civil fraud trial

Former US President Donald Trump has stormed out of a New York courtroom amid the latest instalment of his $250million civil fraud trial.

Trump, his company and two of his sons are facing accusations of 'lying' to lenders and insurers about the value of their properties.

The case was brought to light by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The former US President took to the stand for the first time, after Judge Arthur Engoron issued him with a partial gag order earlier in the month, banning him from making remarks about his court staff.

Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer turned foe, returned to the stand for the second day of the trial.

As Trump took to the stand, Judge Engoron questioned him about remarks he made outside the courtroom.

Trump was then fined $10,000 for violating his gag order, the second time he has been fined for such an offence.

Judge Engoron told Trump in the courtroom "don't do it again or it will be worse".

Engoron added that it was a "blatant, dangerous disobeyal of his court order".

Trump later stormed out of the courtroom, looking furious as he sharply adjusted his suit jacket and approached the press pen.

Trump said: "The witness just admitted that we won the trial, and the judge didn't end this trial immediately."

"Thank you."

He then swiftly exited the court, as his team followed behind.

Donald Trump has denied any wrongdoing in regards to the civil case.

He has previously claimed that James is seeking to "target him" as a leading Republican presidential candidate for 2024.
