The President is said to be turning his attention to 'what he will be remembered for'

President Donald Trump is said to have stopped dyeing his hair after a senior staffer claimed he was finally "conceding to age".

Throughout his second term in the White House, Mr Trump has allegedly begun making subtle acknowledgements that age may be catching up with him.

The President has stopped dyeing his hair its signature golden colour, allowing it to turn white, according to a report published on Monday by New York Magazine,

A senior staffer described the change as the President’s “only concession to age”.

The magazine also reported growing concern among aides about Mr Trump’s hearing.

One senior staff member said it had deteriorated, although Mr Trump himself may be unaware of the decline, despite frequently asking people to speak louder.

Mr Trump is also said to have made a striking remark about his own mortality earlier this year.

In January 2025, while watching coverage of former president Jimmy Carter lying in state at the US Capitol on televisions at Mar-a-Lago, Mr Trump is said turned to those present and said: “You know, within ten years that will be me.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she had no recollection of the comment being made.

The President has frequently hit out at reporting on the state of his physical condition.

Ahead of his most recent interview, he is alleged to have warned: “If you’re going to write a bad story about my health, I’m going to sue the a** off of New York Magazine.”

Mr Trump insists he remains in “perfect health” and claims to feel the same as he did four decades ago.

Questions about his physical wellbeing circulated online after a persistent dark bruise on his right hand drew attention, often appearing bandaged or covered with make-up in photographs.

The President has blamed the mark on frequent handshaking combined with his aspirin use.

However, his doctors have confirmed he suffers from chronic venous insufficiency - a circulatory condition - after photographers captured images showing his ankles visibly swollen on several occasions.

Health speculation intensified in September after observers said his face appeared “droopy” during a September 11 memorial ceremony at the Pentagon.

An MRI scan was carried out shortly afterwards, although no details of the results have been made public.

Mr Trump’s fixation on projecting energy appears to extend to his inner circle.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the magazine he hides under a blanket on Air Force One to avoid being seen sleeping.

According to Mr Rubio, the President “prowls” the aircraft during flights, checking which staff members remain awake.

Senior White House officials have acknowledged Mr Trump has increasingly turned his focus to legacy, privately discussing “what he will be remembered for”.
