The US President will travel to the UK for a three-day state visit, his second trip

Donald Trump's second UK state visit will "test British security authorities", an expert has claimed.

Speaking to GB News, security expert Will Geddes explained it will be a "monumental" security operation to maintain the American leader's safety on his three-day trip.

Ahead of Mr Trump's arrival in the UK, one man has been arrested outside Windsor Castle for allegedly "flying a drone" which breached the restricted area.

The 37-year-old man from West London has been remanded in custody and is being investigated by police.

Discussing the scale of the operation by British authorities ahead of the President's arrival, Mr Geddes told GB News: "Over the next couple of days, it is going to be a monumental security operation that is going to involve many different facets.

"Especially at a time where there's extremely volatile protests, and certainly in terms of the position of the United Kingdom on the world stage, the world will be watching over the next two days as to how well we secure President Donald Trump when he comes to visit."

Noting the vast security measures in place at Windsor Castle, where Mr Trump is expected to be staying, locals have told Mr Geddes that it is a "fortress" of security.

He revealed: "Windsor Castle has been very much fortified, and local residents are almost calling it a fortress."

Stressing that there are protesters already gathering at Windsor Castle, Mr Geddes said troops have also been deployed to assist alongside police officers at the royal residence.

He told GB News: "In terms of the security that's already been put in place, the President is also going to go to Chequers, I think, like his last visit in 2018, he isn't going to come to London. He knows that Sadiq Khan isn't one of his biggest fans, and it's also one of the areas where the vast majority of protests would be focused.

"However, having said that, there are a lot of protests that have already started amassing around Windsor Castle. In terms of security, not only is there the police, Thames Valley Police with the obviously support of the Metropolitan Police.

"But there's 1,300 troops that are going to be there and 120 odd horses, part of the ceremonial process His Majesty is going to be laying on for Donald Trump."

Suggesting the President's meeting with Sir Keir Starmer will be "spiky" as they discuss "delicate issues", Mr Geddes concluded: "There's going to be very spiky meetings with certainly Keir Starmer.

"There's going to be certainly a number of very, very, very delicate issues that need to be discussed, one of which will be that the Americans are very opposed to is the UK and particularly Keir Starmer, trying to recognise a two-state solution for Palestine."

As he arrived at the Air Force One airbase in Maryland, Donald Trump declared King Charles is his "friend" and is an "elegant gentleman".

He told reporters: "They're friends of mine for a long time, long before he was King, and it's an honour to have him as King. I think he represents the country so well, I've watched, he's such an elegant gentleman."
