Gavin Newsom has said he is not running a 2024 presidential campaign

Former Superman actor Dean Cain has hit out at California Governor Gavin Newsom, as he reveals the reasons why he moved out of the state.

Cain was grilled on who he believes could replace Joe Biden as the top Democrat candidate for the upcoming election, after stating that the current leader is "unfit" to run again.

This follows a recent Department of Justice report which claimed Biden has "diminished faculties" and "poor memory".

The 81-year-old has hit back at repeated concerns regarding his alleged waning cognitive ability and told reporters he is the "most qualified person in this country" to be President, promising to "finish the job I started".

Biden shut down reporters, stating: "My memory is fine, I know what the hell I’m doing".

Speaking on GBN America, Cain told host Patrick Christys he didn't think Biden "was fit to begin with". He said Biden has "flashes of lucidity", but "everybody knows he's old and senile".

Patrick asked Cain who he believes could replace Biden in the race against the Republicans, and offered the suggestions of rumoured candidates Kamala Harris, Hilary Clinton and Michelle Obama.

Cain shut down all of the rumoured options and claimed Kamala Harris is "completely unlikable".

Cain revealed GBN America: "I think they're hoping that he gets in and gets re-elected and then they replace him with whomever it might be. And I think that's the case.

"They're going to have him run that same strategy from his basement and not get out there and talk too much."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Criticising Biden, Cain said: "The problem with Biden lately is that he got out there and spoke. And if you get him to speak with something that's not scripted off the teleprompter, get him to just speak contemporaneously, he's going to bury himself, so to speak. So I don't know who they put in."

Discussing the other possible candidates, Cain said Michelle Obama "would be a nightmare", and Hillary Clinton "always wants to run".

Hitting out at California Governor Gavin Newsom, the Superman actor admitted: "I guarantee he was a nightmare. He's the reason I left California. He's slick, but he's terrible. His policies are terrible, and that's what people don't seem to understand.

"It's all about policy and the policies under the Biden administration are terrible. You may not like Donald Trump, you might think he was brass and spoke off the cuff a lot. But his policies were fantastic, not only for the United States, but for the world.

"There were zero wars under Donald Trump, and there's at least three or four going on right now."
