Some 60 per cent of voters are 'dissatisfied' with Sir Keir Starmer, the bombshell survey revealed

Reform UK has stormed to a 15-point lead over Labour, with 35 per cent of people saying they would vote for Nigel Farage's party, a new opinion poll has revealed.

Labour is currently capturing 20 per cent of the vote, down from 33 per cent last summer.

Mr Farage would step into Downing Street with a landslide 400 seats if an election was held today.

The BMG Research poll also handed Reform UK its largest share of support ever, leaving Mr Farage to opine: "Something is happening out there."

Michael Hadwen, a Tory campaign veteran who left Reform UK HQ last month after almost a year at the helm, added: "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: by May Reform UK will be on 38-42 per cent in the polls.

"Sounds ridiculous? They said the same in January when we predicted 32 per cent at the locals and we hit it. Momentum is on our side and it cannot be stopped."

The poll also stated that 41 per cent trust Reform to deal with the small boats crisis, compared to just 14 per cent with Labour.

More than 50,000 people have crossed the Channel illegally since Sir Keir entered power, as his party struggles to deal with the illegal border crossings.

The polling also delivers a hammer blow to Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, whose party would pick up just 17 per cent of the vote, trailing behind both Labour and Reform.

Mrs Badenoch's party is also third when voters were asked who they would trust to deal with the small boats crisis.

The polling was carried out this week, after Mr Farage proposed his plans to deport 600,000 migrants over the five years of a Reform Government.

Some 39 per cent believe Reform is capable of delivering on Mr Farage's "Operation Restoring Justice" proposal, while 29 per cent do not.

Pollsters said that unless the small boat numbers come down, there will be more "pressure for a shift in strategy, and even [for the] Prime Minister."

Reform MP Lee Anderson celebrated the poll, posting on X: "Take that."

BMG also stated that 60 per cent are dissatisfied with Sir Keir, with only 19 per cent approving of the job the Prime Minister is doing.

It means Sir Keir is as unpopular as Rishi Sunak was before last year's election.

BMG pollster Jack Curry said frustration over dealing with the small boat crisis is "clearly fuelling support for Reform".

Mr Curry said: "There is a striking consensus among the British public when it comes to the issue of small boats. The public sees no real difference between the current Labour Government and the previous Conservative Government. Both are viewed as equally ineffective.

BMG's head of polling, Robert Struthers, also claimed Reform UK and Nigel Farage are shaking British politics "to its core".

He said: "Nigel Farage's net rating of +5 may not appear remarkable on its own, but it contrasts sharply with Keir Starmer's figures, which have dropped to a new low at -41. He's now as unpopular as Sunak was before the election last year.

"The next election may still be some way off, but there's no doubt these numbers are catastrophic for Labour.

"Unless things change, pressure for a shift in strategy and even Prime Minister will only intensify."
