Kevin Hollinrake has accused Nigel Farage of "copying" Tory policy and claimed Conservative policies are "better thought through" than Reform's.
Speaking to GB News, the Conservative Party Chairman took aim at the Reform UK leader and said their parties rules on immigration are "much tougher" than Reform UK's.
Speaking to GB News after his announcement, the Reform UK leader warned that the current system for legal migrants and their dependants will "bankrupt" Britain.
Mr Farage stated: "Nearly a million people over the course of the next few years will qualify for indefinite leave to remain, they are part of the Boriswave. Once they get that status, they can bring dependants.

"Once they get that status, they can access fully all the welfare benefits in this country. Already, one in six on Universal Credit are foreign born people. This is going to bankrupt us."
Criticising the latest announcement from Reform, Mr Hollinrake told GB News: "We've got a handle on it, and the reality behind all this is, though we made some mistakes on migration in the last Parliament, there's no doubt one of the things we knew we needed to do is bring forward a deterrent for people coming over the Channel.
"And that was the Rwanda deterrent, which we finally passed despite being opposed 134 times by Labour and the Liberal Democrats and then by the courts, we passed all that legislation, and Labour then scrapped it."
Claiming their policy on indefinite leave to remain is "tougher" than the one announced by Mr Farage, he added: "So we absolutely agree and have already put forward our policies on deportation of illegal migrants in terms of legal migrants, in terms of indefinite leave to remain.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"Our rules, we announced back in February, are even tougher the Reform's rules. We're saying people shouldn't be able to get indefinite leave to remain for 15 years, effectively so, and bringing forward a cap on legal migration to make sure we can control numbers of the borders, make sure people have access to benefits and social housing, all those things, if they're going to apply for citizenship."
Accusing the Reform UK leader of "copying" Tory policy, the Chairman stated: "So many of these things, we're on a similar page to Reform because Reform have copied a lot of our policies, but ours are better thought through. They will stand the test of time, given the chance to effect them."
Interjecting Mr Hollinrake, GB News host Penny Smith asked: "But Reform are getting all the headlines, so you must be a bit annoyed about that, a bit miffed?"
He responded: "Well, listen, it's our job to make sure people understand our message, and we need to work harder at that as part of my job as party Chairman.

"But Kemi Badenoch is doing a fantastic job, she's the strongest leader in this country at any political party, and I think she's the right person to lead this country."
Suggesting Nigel Farage is not a strong leader for Government, Mr Hollinrake continued: "What this country needs right now is a strong leader, one who is consistent.
"You see all the backtracking from Nigel Farage about the policies he announces because he makes mistakes on them like he did yesterday, because he's a one man band.
"We've got a very good team of people, including an excellent Shadow Chancellor, who will actually balance the books. And that's what you're going to get from Conservatives is we'll control the the borders, but we'll also live within our means. That is critical, and no other party will do that."
