Dawn Neesom has expressed intense frustration following an interview with Labour minister James Murray, criticising his evasive responses regarding immigration policy.

During her programme, she revealed her bewilderment at the minister's use of meaningless political terminology.

"I even wrote 'levers' down, I don't even know what that means," Dawn said, referring to Murray's claim that "levers are being pulled" to address immigration issues.

The presenter voiced her exasperation with politicians who provide responses that lack clarity or substance.

Dawn Neesom fumed at the "frustrating" response from the Labour MP

"It is so frustrating talking to politicians who come out with stuff that just doesn't make any sense whatsoever," she stated.

Dawn also expressed sympathy for fellow presenter Camilla Tominey, wondering how she manages her programme without "banging her head against the desk" when dealing with similar political evasiveness.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

She added: "Two big stories today about migration. First, Trump is over here saying, 'You’re being invaded, what are you doing about it?'

"And second, we've got angry people, quite rightly angry, gathering outside migrant hotels.

"Then right on the front page of the Telegraph, we’ve got a story about a new police unit not to monitor migrants breaking the law, but to monitor our anger about it!

"And now we’re told smugglers will be committing a criminal offence if they overcrowd the boats as if that’s the real problem. Supposedly, it’s about protecting the women and children.

"Okay, I know I keep saying this today, but: make this make sense."

The heated exchange between Murray and Camilla Tominey occurred earlier in the day, where the presenter challenged the minister about establishing a police unit to monitor anti-immigration sentiment on social media.

"Do you really think that the great British public needs their thoughts to be policed more, rather than their streets?" Tominey demanded.

Murray responded by emphasising the Government's commitment to increasing police presence in residential areas and town centres, but Tominey rejected this deflection.

She presented stark statistics showing approximately 33,000 illegal entries via small boats between July 2024 and June 2025.

The presenter highlighted that merely 446 people faced immigration-related charges during this period, representing only one per cent of small boat arrivals. "The gangs are having a smashing time under Labour, aren't they?" Tominey challenged.

Murray attempted to defend the government's approach, insisting they were "determined to crack" the issues of small boat crossings and asylum backlogs. However, Tominey refused to accept his assurances, presenting further evidence of policy failure.
