M25 chaos: Horror multi-vehicle crash prompts long delays and traffic near Heathrow Airport

Drivers are being warned of long delays on the M25 this morning following a multi-vehicle collision, causing miles of congestion.
Traffic conditions on the M25 between Junction 11 (Chertsey, Woking) and Junction 10 (A3, London, Guildford) remain stationary.
National Highways South-East confirmed that the multi-vehicle collision had resulted in traffic being stopped on the busy stretch of motorway.
It added that Surrey Police's Roads Policing Unit was on the scene and dealing with the accident.

Images from the scene show multiple emergency service vehicles, including police cars and an ambulance, at the site of the accident.
A crashed silver car can be seen along the barrier on the hard shoulder of the M25, while a black car and a silver van are also parked across the carriageway.
National Highways confirmed that the van and two cars involved in the accident have been moved on to the hard shoulder.
While the incident has been cleared, drivers can expect around 30 minutes of delays and three miles of congestion.

It noted that traffic conditions should begin to ease, although emergency services remain on the scene.
The multi-vehicle accident has resulted in slow-moving traffic along the M25 approaching London Heathrow Airport at Junction 13.
Backlogs of stationary and slow-moving traffic can be seen as far back as Junction 9, near Leatherhead.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police told GB News that the case has since been transferred to Highways England.

National Highways has confirmed that traffic has been moved past the incident on the M25

They added: Police were called at around 7:30am this morning with reports of a multi-vehicle collision between junctions 10 and 11 on the M25.
"Officers attended along with assistance from Highways England and South East Coast Ambulance Service, who provided treatment on scene for minor injuries."
The incident on the anti-clockwise carriageway follows an accident in the clockwise direction between J10 and J11.
It involved six vehicles, with the road being blocked to allow officers to separate the vehicles and move them to the side.

National Highways stated that all lanes were open and flowing in all four lanes, allowing drivers to continue with their journey.
It added: "It has cleared but it takes time on a motorway like the M25 at rush hour for congestion to clear.
"Please note there's also been a collision on the anti-clockwise side which people on the clockwise side will slow down to look at, this'll prolong the clockwise congestion clearing."
