‘Freezing this Christmas’ crooner Chris Middleton also hinted at plans for another festival charity single this year

The man behind the anti-Labour Christmas single, "Freezing This Christmas", has donated £15,000 earned from the song to 10 charities.

Chris Middleton released the song last year and generated £1,500 for good causes.

The song has been viewed 2.7million times on YouTube and streamed over 500,000 times on Spotify.

The single was credited to a group known as "Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers".

It opens up with a graphic on the YouTube video noting that "up to 4,000 pensioners will die because of the cold in the UK this winter," and previously called on the Government to raise the threshold for the Winter Fuel Allowance.

Sir Keir Starmer u-turned on his decision with the Winter Fuel Payment in June, when it was re-instated for nine million pensioners in England and Wales.

The lyrics throughout the anti-Labour single took jabs at the Prime Minister, while sending a message felt by millions of pensioners.

Part of the lyrics said: "What can I do without fuel? I've got no place, no place to go. It'll be freezing this Christmas, without fuel at home.

"It'll be freezing this Christmas, while Keir Starmer's warm. It'll be cold, so cold."

Mr Middleton, an independent journalist, donated the funds acquired from the single to 10 charities.

These included The People's Kitchen, who serve over 250 meals every single day and Taxi Charity for Military Veterans who arrange free events for veterans from all conflicts.

Mr Middleton said: "Thank you all once again for supporting Freezing This Christmas, I am truly grateful.

"Not only did we play a part in getting the Government to U-turn, we've also helped these 10 incredible local charities as well."

Mr Middleton added that if anyone has ideas for songs this Christmas, he is "all ears".
