Former Brexit Party MEP and fisheries campaigner June Mummery has launched a furious tirade on Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's EU deal, claiming he has committed a "massive betrayal" against Britain's fishing industry.
Announcing the new agreement at a summit in London today, Starmer claimed the deal will be "good for jobs, good for bills and good for our borders".
However, the fishing community has expressed its outrage at the 12-year legislation, accusing the Labour leader of "selling out" British fishermen and women to Brussels.
Speaking to GB News, Mummery hit out at the deal and having spoken to workers in the fishing industry, confirmed they are "absolutely furious" with the Prime Minister.

Mummery exclaimed: "The mood is absolutely awful. I've been down to the fish market with various people, chatting to fishermen, they are very, very, very upset, very disappointed and absolutely furious. This is the nail in the coffin.
"I can't see how we can come back from this. Where did this 12 years come from? He obviously knows he won't get in next time, does he think he'll get in another 12 years time? I cannot understand where this has come from. How can he do this?"
Highlighting that the issue is "bigger than the fishermen", Mummery emphasised that the deal impacts the "processes" of the fishing industry.
She added: "This isn't just about fishermen, it's the processing side of things. There's a lot of other jobs involved with it, but no, it's awful and I really do not know the answer to this."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
When asked by host Martin Daubney if there will be a "revolt" from the fishing community against the deal, Mummery stated that the demographic of fishermen is "too old", and Starmer has "given away opportunities" for new workers to start in the industry.
Mummery explained: "You've got to remember, the demographic of a fisherman now is over 60-years-old. We haven't got youngsters coming into it.
"And who on earth would come into the industry now? Now that man's given it away and stolen our aspirations and our opportunities.
"What leader of a country would do this to the to the people and give away our territorial waters? We are supposed to be an independent coastal state.
"Our forefathers fought for that track record out in that North Sea, we lost lives for us to have a better future in this country. What is the man doing? What? It's just absolutely ridiculous."
Admitting that the community could possibly "team up" with the farming industry, who have been protesting Labour's inheritance tax policy, Mummery told GB News that the Prime Minister "couldn't care less" about the fishermen.

Mummery raged: "We could unite with the farmers because it's about food security, and we are talking with farmers - my phone's been pinging all day.
"And when this comes upon us and we're not in control, what can we do? We've got to go off and campaign again and stand outside Number Ten.
"He doesn't care. He doesn't care about the coastal folk, he couldn't care less about us. We're the sorry people, that's what we are. They're the kings and queens, and we are the sorry people."
Comparing the Labour Government's EU deal with the UK's migration crisis, Mummery concluded: "When he said he was going to stop the boats, we didn't realise he meant he was going to stop the fishing boats in his own country. We will fight, he will not get away with this. In four years time, he'll be gone.
"Fish is a public asset, it belongs to the public. Did Keir Starmer at any point ask the people if he could trade away their sovereignty? No."
