Eamonn Holmes has told Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch to “get a life” in a furious rant about a cause close to his heart.
As the British political establishment rows over Keir Starmer’s post-Brexit ‘reset’ with the EU, Eamonn said on GB News that there are bigger issues at play.
The veteran broadcaster questioned whether such an agreement is worth a “day’s work” and if the furore is even worthwhile.
“The other thing that’s appalling in this country is testing of animals”, he said.

“Animals confined in similar conditions. Do you know what they’re used for? The main testing is to see what effect washing up liquid has on your hands.
“That is what we’re torturing them for in this country, and it’s allowed to happen.”

He continued: “I say to people like Badenoch and Starmer, instead of this rubbish that you sit and talk about all day, look at relevant things.
“Animals are being tortured. Look at the welfare of animals. All of these things.
“Get a life, get a grip and sort things out rather than this nonsense and rubbish we bury our heads in.
“Look at this deal yesterday, would you really say it’s a day’s work? It’s absolutely laughable.”

PAEamonn has long been outspoken on animal rights and has previously expressed regret about not being vegetarian.
He told Saturday Night with Hayley Palmer last year we have “lost connection” with where meat comes from.
Speaking about the love he receives from his rescue dog, he said: “I have never experienced affection like it - unconditional love.”
He added: “We go to the supermarket and get sausages, we think they come from a packet.
“We don’t realise they come from pigs or cows, we don’t realise what goes on. I would like to aspire to become vegetarian, certainly.”
