We must all take advantage of the refresh Easter brings, writes GB News' Editorial Director

IT’S easy to lose faith. Life can knock it out of you. Whether it’s faith in the institutions we were brought up to respect, faith that you live in a fair and just society, or faith in yourself and others. I could go on.

Faith is hard gained and easily lost. Looking around the world now, I know it’s hard to find something or someone to believe in.

There’s chaos at home and abroad, the cost of living is spiralling, and widespread lawlessness on the streets.

It doesn’t feel like anyone is in control, with humanity on a high-speed journey towards self-destruction. But whether you are religious or not, Easter is a time we can all take a breath, look around, and realise that all is not lost.

Easter is that time we get every year - the time for renewal. The time to realise there is hope.

I’ve learned that lesson during my time working at GB News. It will soon be five years since the channel began.GB News was launched because we could see there was something wrong with the media that we had, and we wanted to do something about it. By fixing the media, we could in some way start the process of fixing society.

We could see that people like you and me had lost faith that their rights and views were being represented on the nation's airwaves.

It was obvious to us that there was a space for a media company that actually wanted to listen to the real people of this country and have a place to have their say, openly and honestly and without fear of censure. We filled that space and invited you to join us.

It’s certainly not been an easy ride. To this day, people want to shut us down, shut us up and shut you up too. Recent events have shown there’s still plenty of ghouls from the old media who don’t like what we do together and want us silenced.

The Establishment are rattled and still lashing out.

But despite five years of attacks, we are still strong. It’s not just us, though – the real strength of GB News is YOU, the amazing GB News community.

Thank you for putting your faith in us, but we know we need to work hard every day to retain that faith.Together we have achieved so much.

Both here at GB News and more widely in Britain as a whole, we must take advantage of the refresh Easter brings. The future depends on it.

Our country is at a pivotal point, politically and socially, as uncertain as we have ever been. The choices we make over the next few years will decide the country’s fate forever.

On TV, radio and online, we will be the best place for those choices to be debated and solutions to be found. We will do it fearlessly, fairly and with freedom of speech.

The trust you have placed in us depends on it. Everyone here at GB News wishes you and your families a safe, healthy and happy Easter.

Keep sticking together. Keep the faith.
