She said she had previously raised concerns to the local housing authorities - Wheatley Homes Glasgow - about her neighbour's canines for the past year and a half.

"We're all totally traumatised. I've moved my stuff out of the flat and I'm staying with my partner now," she told the Daily Record.

"I'm not going back there. I just can't be there any longer because it's not safe. My concern is that next time it's going to be a child and they won't stand a chance.

"The police are investigating but the dogs are still there in the flat. They've not been removed because they never hurt my son Kieren or his friend who had to fight them off Ziggy."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Ziggy's injuries were so serious that her wounds were left open for three days due to the risk of infection.

The treatment has racked up a bill of £1300.

Brogan added: "It's a shame because Ziggy's such a wee legend - we don't know how she survived it. It's just as well she had a wee bit of fat on her neck or otherwise she'd have been a goner."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 8.15pm on Saturday, 6 April, 2024, we received a report of a dog having been attacked by two other dogs on Cambusdoon Road, Glasgow. Enquiries are at an early stage."
