At least 15 people have been left injured during the attack

At least six people have died and dozens injured after "two terrorists" stormed northern Jerusalem and opened fire at a busy bus stop, paramedics and police say.

Reports indicate at least 15 people have been left injured and the two attacks were "neutralised" at the Ramot junction in the Holy City.

Four men were pronounced dead at the scene after being killed by two gunmen, who were then shot dead by police, the Israeli ambulance service has said.

One of the victims is believed to be in his 50s, while three men other men were said to be in their 30s.

Paramedics arriving at the scene found victims lying on the road and sidewalk close to a bus stop.

Some of the victims were also found to be unconscious.

According to local news, security officials have indicated that the two gunmen who carried out the attack were West Bank Palestinians.

The pair were believed to have set out from villages in the Ramallah area.

However, their identities are still under investigation by Israeli security authorities.

Footage showed dozens of people fleeing a bus stop during the morning rush hour.

Responding paramedics also indicated that the scene was covered in broken glass as five people with gunshot wounds were taken to hospital.

Despite sources indicating the pair were Palestinian terrorists, the motive for the shooting is not yet clear.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel said it was a "tragic morning".

"Two terrorists boarded a bus on route 62 and opened fire on passengers and bystanders," she said.

"Many were murdered and others severely injured.

"Our hearts are with the families who are mourning their loved ones on this terrible day."

The minister said: "The people of Israel will continue to stand strong and united against those who seek to destroy us".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was conducting a security assessment following the attack.

Israeli media has reported Mr Netanyahu will not testify at his corruption trial as a result.

It comes as the Israeli military destroyed a high-rise block in Gaza City.

Defence Minister Israel Katz posted a video of the building collapsing on X, saying "We're continuing".

The military said the Sussi Tower was being used by Hamas - which denied the claim.

Mr Netanyahu announced the country's intention to seize all of the Gaza strip after indirect ceasefire talks with Hamas broke down in July.

After the Hamas attack, where about 1,200 people were killed in Israel and 251 hostages were taken, Israel launched a campaign in Gaza.

At least 63,746 people have been killed by Israel, according to the strip's Hamas-run health ministry.

It is also reported that 367 people have died so far due to malnutrition and starvation.
