Another ship in Greta Thunberg's Gaza-bound flotilla has been bombed, activists have claimed.

Footage shared by activist Mohammad Al-Zubide in Tunisia appears to show the Alma boat off the coast of Carthage being struck by a drone before catching fire.

Another activist, Leila Hegazy, said: “A drone just struck our boat."

The self-proclaimed "Egyptian-Italian disruptor" said: “The device is still here so no one can deny this happened. The fire was extinguished quickly and no one is injured.”

A "family" boat from the flotilla was hit in a "drone strike", also in Carthage, early on Tuesday morning.

But last night, a spokesman for the Tunisian national guard cast the campaigners' claims into doubt.

"No drone" had been detected, he said, adding that an investigation was ongoing.

Tunisian authorities said the claims "had no basis in truth" and said the explosion had originated inside the vessel, according to initial investigations.

After this alleged strike, the Global Sumud Flotilla released a statement which read: "Acts of aggression aimed at intimidating and derailing our mission will not deter us.

"Our peaceful mission to break the siege on Gaza and stand in solidarity with its people continues with determination and resolve."

The flotilla is made up of around 20 vessels carrying activists from 44 nations.

According to its website, the aim of the "largest coordinated civilian flotilla in history" is to "break the illegal siege on Gaza by sea, open a humanitarian corridor, and end the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people".

However, Israeli authorities have dismissed the flotillas as publicity stunts, and Israeli forces have previously boarded and seized vessels taking part.

Ms Thunberg originally departed from Barcelona as part of the fleet of ships at the end of August.

She was joined by Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham and former Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau.

The 22-year-old Swede was part of another flotilla headed for Gaza earlier this year which was intercepted by Israeli forces 115 miles west of its destination.

Ms Thunberg claimed herself and 11 other activists onboard were "kidnapped on international waters", however, Israel confirmed they were given water and sandwiches before being escorted to the port of Ashdod.

GB News has approached the Global Sumud Flotilla for comment.
