An explosion in a Berlin block of flats has caused a number of injuries.
At least one person was said to be seriously hurt in the incident, which occurred at around 3.30am in Neukölln.

The explosion went off on the ground floor of the building, according to Berliner Zeitung, who report that the fire broke out shortly after and spread quickly.
Several explosions are also said to have occurred while firefighting efforts were ongoing in the burning apartment.
Windows were shattered and shutters were blown away in the heavy impact.

Investigations into the cause of the explosions are ongoing.
A hefty fire engine and ambulance presence was in force, with 45 people treated on site for minor injuries.

Residents reported hearing a loud bang and then seeing heavy smoke.
The fire has now been extinguished, according to local reports.
