The TikTok user later revealed she had suffered from heatstroke

A woman has shared how her face doubled in size after it swelled excessively during an hour sat in the sun.

Eva Jones shared a video on TikTok showing how her face burnt up during the extreme temperatures the UK is currently experiencing.

The video has since gone viral, racking up over 700,000 views, as it documents her face's journey from going a pale colour to red.

She jokes that "tanning for an hour won't do much" after showing the final results of being exposed to the sun.

She said in the clip: "Guys I'm laughing but it’s not actually funny."

She later explained that she was suffering from heatstroke.

Heatstroke can be brought on by sitting in high temperatures for prolonged periods, which results in your body overheating.

Symptoms of the condition can be an increased body core temperature and shifts in mental status.

The NHS advises to help people suffering from heatstroke by moving them to a cool place, raising their feet slightly and getting them to drink plenty of water.

Doctors also advises you to stay with them until they are better.

You should call 999 if you are feeling unwell after 30 minutes, or you are feeling hot but not sweating.

Ms Jones' heatstroke hit before the UK experienced its warmest night on record, according to the Met Office.

The extreme heat saw temperatures remaining in the mid-20s, with a potential high of 41C forecast for Tuesday, causing potential travel chaos.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has conceded the UK’s transport network cannot cope with the heat.

He said issues on the rails and roads will continue for decades during such heatwaves.

The Met Office tweeted: “It has provisionally been the warmest night on record in the UK.

“Temperatures didn’t fall below 25C in places, exceeding the previous highest daily minimum record of 23.9C, recorded in Brighton on 3rd August 1990.”
