Ian Stewart is seen smirking as cops tell him he is being arrested for murdering Diane Stewart.

A smirking double killer says "you're joking" as he is arrested on suspicion of murdering his first wife.

Ian Stewart is seen smirking as cops tell him he is being arrested for murdering Diane Stewart.

As an officer proceeds to tell Stewart his rights, he hits back: "Oh for f*** sake, what a load of ********".

Stewart adds: "Have you got nothing better to do than make things up?"

He then shakes his head and smirks as he looks out of the car window.

Stewart was later filmed shrugging as he is questioned in a police cell about Diane's death.

The footage released bears similarities to chilling bodycam footage taken by police as they swooped in, following his murder of his fiancee, Helen Bailey.

He again gasped "you're joking" as the police moved in on the £1.4million property.

The body of the children's author was found in a cesspit filled with human excrement in her garage in 2016.

Ian Stewart smothered her in an evil plot to get his hands on her £4million fortune.

The fact the software engineer had killed his first wife was not known until he was arrested over the murder of Helen Bailey.

Her death in 2010 was put down to her epilepsy, but a new investigation found she had been either strangled or suffocated.

Stewart was today convicted of murdering Diane following a trial at Huntigdon Crown Court.

Ian Stewart will die behind bars after being slapped with a whole life tariff.

Mr Justice Simon Bryan pointed out the "striking similarities" in both murders.

He added: "You murdered Helen Bailey a lady with whom witnesses in that trial, and in this trial, said you were very much in love with and indeed about to marry just as you murdered Diane whom you also said were you very much in love, as again attested by many witnesses."

Diane's brutal death came six years before Ian Stewart murdered Helen.

Bodycam footage was release in 2017 after Stewart was convicted for killing the author.

After being told officers had a search warrant for the home, Stewart exclaims: "bloody hell, why?" and "where is she?"

Stewart was then sentenced to 34 years in jail after being found guilty of murder.

After jurors found him guilty of murdering wife Diane, he is now likely to spend his life in prison.

The police began re-examining her death after Stewart's conviction as they had concerns over his involvement.

The court heard that Stewart received £96,607.37 after his wife’s death, in the form of £28,500.21 from a life insurance policy and the rest from bank accounts.

Both of the couple’s sons were out on the day of their mother’s death, with then 15-year-old Oliver at school and Jamie, then 18, taking his driving test.

Jamie Stewart had told the court that he recalled “raised voices… between my mother and father” when he was at home on study leave for A-levels the week his mother died.

The judge said he was “satisfied that the major motive for Diane’s murder was for financial gain” but had “no doubt that there were other subsidiary motives”.

He said it will “never be possible to be sure” but there was a suggestion that “all was not well” in the defendant’s marriage and that he was “tiring of Diane”.

The defendant, flanked by four dock officers, looked towards his two sons who sat in the public gallery as he was led to the cells.

The two boys did not make eye contact with him.
