A driver has been slapped with a £600 fine after breaching Wales’s 20mph speed limit 11 times in just over a month.
Gregory Williams pleaded guilty at Mold Magistrates’ Court to the offences after speeding while passing through an unfamiliar area.
Mr Williams, a courier, was caught speeding on 10 occasions on a single stretch of road near the Flintshire town, with two of the offences taking place within the same four hours.
A fixed speed camera on a straight stretch of the A5104 at the village of Pontybodkin caught 10 of the offences, while the 11th was in nearby Mynydd Isa.
His tickets were handed out over the course of just 35 days between September 4 and October 9 last year.
The 37-year-old told the court: "By the time the first offence came through the post, the rest had already happened."
Mr Williams, who is from Dyserth, North Wales apologised to the court, adding: "I was a courier driver in a new area for me. I mistook it for a 30mph zone."
The driver, who previously had a clean driving record was given 37 points on his licence. Magistrates banned him from driving for six months and handed him a £600 fine.

| GOOGLE MAPSWales became the first country in the UK to reduce the default speed limit in built-up areas from 30mph to 20mph two years ago.
The decision to introduce the ban was met with backlash from motorists, with 470,000 signing a petition against the law, the largest in Welsh history.
Industry figures have now suggested that the economic impact of the 20mph speed limits could reach £9billion.
Speaking on State of the Nation on GB News, Sir Jacob Rees Mogg called the restriction, "bonkers" adding it was a "colossal waste of police time."

| PEXELSThe move was slammed by the former Welsh Conservative leader, Andrew RT Davies, who called the move "ridiculous."
Mr Davies told GB News: "We believe that 20mph outside sensitive sites such as schools, hospitals and care homes is a sensible precaution.
"But having a national reduction in the speed limit to 20mph where previously was 30mph is, as I said by the government's own figures, a big hit on the Welsh economy, up to £9billion.
"We make no apology for using parliamentary time to show that we are on the side of the people's choices when it comes to marking up priorities."

However, Welsh Government figures argued the move reduced collisions on affected roads by 19 per cent, adding that 100 fewer people per year are killed or badly injured in road accidents.
A total of 97,088 speeding offences were recorded by North Wales Police in 2024, with the 20mph policy responsible for the majority of breaches.
Former Welsh First Minister who bought it in Mark Drakeford told GB News: "We will see the advantages in the lives that we will save in the accidents that will not take place.
"It's a small thing, I think, to ask people to drive a little bit more slowly in order to achieve that in the lives of us settling in."
Recent data has also revealed that over 134,000 drivers have been caught speeding since the implementation.
Motoring experts indicated this figure demonstrated widespread confusion and non-compliance with the story.
Journey times across Wales have also continued to increase due to slower driving conditions on the roads, according to transport officials.
Sam Rowlands MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure, called the policy "a disaster for Wales" that has already cost £32million to implement.
