The claim was made during a fiery GBN America debate

US journalist Victor Cognialese has hit out at claims ‘fascism will rise’ with a second Donald Trump presidential term.

The claim was made during a fiery GBN America debate between Cognialese and attorney Ethan Bearman, who said Trump belongs to an extreme political ideology.

Cognialese said the claim was ‘absurd’ as he slapped down Bearman’s argument.

Bearman told Patrick Christys: “I would fear a rise of more fascism and his rise and a desire for a dictatorship”, he said.

Cognialese responded by branding Bearman’s assertion “absurd”.

“Trump is the one who wants to appear on ballots and have the people choose him”, he said.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

“He’s the one who did leave office on January 20th 2021 and flew to Mar-a-Lago.

“The whole thing is nuts. The Left is trying to remove him from presidential ballots, trying to use the justice system to prevent him from having a candidacy.

“They’re imprisoning their political opponents. Just the idea that fascism is projected on Trump I think is absurd.

“It’s unfortunate to American politics when it comes to what is going to happen in a Trump presidency.”

The state of the US economy is a key focus ahead of this year’s divisive election in America, with Joe Biden keen to argue that his plan is reaping rewards.

Bearman told GBN America that the US economy is the world’s envy, adding he ‘feels sorry’ for Britain, claiming its economy pales in comparison.

But Coglianese does not agree, arguing that Bidenomics has resulted in Americans getting poorer.

“The government spending by Joe Biden and his Democrat colleagues has led to inflation that has left Americans poorer since the pandemic than they were four years ago”, he said.

“It’s not a good thing. In fact, we’re at a point where we’re approaching $35 trillion in debt.

“Congress may not raise taxes literally, but it is taxing the American people through inflation, through printing money by way of the Federal Reserve.

“It’s a bad thing that leaves Americans struggling.”
