Protests have been rife across US campuses

‘Blatant antisemitism’ has been on display on campuses across the US during protests about the war in Gaza, according to the country’s government, and perpetrators should be “judged accordingly”, US-Israeli writer Yaron Brook has fumed.

Speaking on GB News, Brook joined Tom Harwood and Emily Carver to discuss the rise of antisemitism which he says “hasn’t come from nowhere” after a number of arrests were made at New York University on Monday night.

He believes those responsible are disrupting the education of 95 per cent of students at their universities.

“Antisemitism is not coming from nowhere, this is a consequence of what these students are being taught”, he said on GB News.

“This is a consequence of a curriculum throughout the country which demonises success, demonises the West, demonises liberal democracies and holds up an example of the worst kind of barbarism which is Hamas.

“These protests are a manifestation of what they’re being taught in the classroom. This is a manifestation of the stuff professors are teaching on a day to day basis.”

Asked by Carver if he is suggesting everybody protesting is “antisemitic”, Brook said that while this may not be the case, they are “sanctioning evil”.

“I’m saying everyone protesting is sanctioning and supporting evil”, he said.

“These demonstrations are pro-Hamas. They are responsible for rape and murder.

“You are supporting a culture that supports authoritarianism, the throwing off of homosexuals from rooftops, is everyone antisemitic? Probably not.

“But is everyone protesting today supporting a repugnant ideology? Absolutely.

“They should be judged accordingly. They are supporting evil and the weakness of the administration is not that they are not putting more police out and arresting more people, which they should be doing, the real weakness is they are not judging these demonstrations.

“There is nothing positive they are advocating for.”

Condemnations of the protests in America have reached the highest office with President Joe Biden hitting out at both the “antisemitic protests” as well as “those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians”.

Many students have continued to demand a ceasefire in America and protest groups have distanced themselves from “any form of hate or bigotry”.

Colombia Students for Justice in Palestine criticised “inflammatory individuals who do not represent us” in their statement as their university cancelled in-person classes.
