Major Glenn Ignazio has demanded Joe Biden “gets control” of the US border as the issue continues to ramp up for the president.
The military expert joined Jacob Rees-Mogg on GBN America where he discussed the perils ahead for the US should it fail to secure its borders.
House Republicans are desperately seeking to beef up measures designed to stem the tide of southern border crossings, threatening to scupper Biden’s hopes to send more funding to Ukraine in the process.
“The issue is what’s happening internally”, he said.

“There’s a lot of discontent around what is going on at our borders.
“There’s more of an emphasis protecting the security of another country, but not the security of the United States as a whole. That’s where the sentiment and feelings are lost.”

He added: “We do have this huge incursion on the south of our border. If they addressed that, I think people would be greatly more behind what’s going on in Ukraine.”
Asked how a Donald Trump victory in November could affect matters, Ignazio said he is concerned about the Republican frontrunner giving a “green card” to Putin.
“Many of his statements are of surprise to many including the professionals”, he said.
“To say you would pull out of NATO I believe is the worst thing you could possibly say and gives a green card to Putin.
“But if he comes into office, he does project strength and that is something Putin respects.”
It comes after the US Supreme Court temporarily blocked a Texas law that would allow police to arrest people suspected of crossing the border from Mexico.
The law would be one of the toughest immigration laws passed by any US state in modern history and could impact the relationship between state and federal governments.
Rights groups and the Biden administration have sought to stop it with legal challenges launched.
The top US court put the law on hold at the federal government’s request.
The law - known as SB4 - was originally set to come into force on Tuesday and would significantly increase the number of deportations.
