A park ranger claims to have been fired after teaming up with drag queens and trans activists to hang a transgender flag from a famous landmark in a US National Park.
Shannon Joslin, alongside well known drag queen Pattie Gonia and other activists, hung the flag on Yosemite's famous El Capitan rock formation.
In a social media post on August 18, Ms Joslin claimed to have been fired her position with the National Park Service (NPS) after she "hung a trans flag on El Capitan" in her "free time, off-duty, as a private citizen".

Ms Joslin wrote: "Last week I was fired from my dream job as a permanent park ranger with the NPS for practicing my First Amendment right."
It is understood the transgender flag was on the rocks for roughly "two hours in the morning" before it was taken down.
Ms Joslin added: "El Capitan has had flags hung on it for decades and no one has EVER been punished for it. Only me.
"I was fired by the temporary Deputy Superintendent for 'failing to demonstrate acceptable conduct' in my capacity as a Wildlife Biologist for the park.

"No part of hanging the flag was done of work time."
She added: "Preservation has been my life's work - of Yosemite, the wildlife, the land, recreation, of people's rights and safety, of community and acceptance, and now the Constitutional First Amendment.
"I want my rights and I want my career back. So help me. Use your First Amendment right to broadcast my story as loudly and widely as possible."

In May, members of a "coalition of LGBTQ activist climbers" known as "Trans Is Natural" hung the flag, which measured 55 by 35 feet, "somewhere between 8am and 10am, 1,500 feet up El Capitan".
Wyn Wiley, known professionally as Pattie Gonia, issued a statement at the time of the incident which said the group had hung the flag in order "to make a statement", adding that transgender people are "natural" and "loved", according to NBC News.
Mr Wiley said: "Let this flag fly higher than hate. We are done being polite about trans people's existence.
"Call it a protest, call it a celebration - either way, it's giving elevation to liberation."
