Donald Trump being barred from the Colorado primary ballot sets a precedent, according to a lawyer who helped aid the expulsion.
Attorney Eric Olson spoke on GB News hours after the ruling which he had argued in the court for.
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Trump was not an eligible candidate because he had engaged in an insurrection over the US Capitol riot nearly three years ago.
Trump is still free to run in other states and his campaign is planning to appeal to the US Supreme Court over the matter.

Heralding the ruling as a “victory for democracy”, Olson told GB News it sets a precedent for future rulings.
“It sets the important legal precedent that no one else is above the law”, he said.

Asked whether similar proceedings would be opened should Joe Biden offend, he said “absolutely”.
“If Joe Biden engaged in an insurrection, absolutely”, he said.
“If that happened, he should not be allowed to hold office again, or any Democrat for that matter.”
Pressed on the perceived decline in Biden’s cognitive ability potentially being a reason for barring him from the primary vote, he said the Constitution “applies to everyone”.
“There is a mechanism for people to remove a sitting president if they are incapable of doing their job”, he said.
“The mechanism should be applied to Democrats and Republicans alike.
“There is no party that gets to exempt themselves from the Constitution.
“I think the importance of this decision is that the rule of law holds in America and we choose between qualified candidates to be our president.”
