US conservative political commentator Brandon Tatum believes women has been “sold a lie” about their role in society.
Speaking on GBN America, Tatum stood up for NFL star Harrison Butker amid furore sparked by his ‘homemaker’ speech.
The 28-year-old spoke to female graduates about what he perceives to be one of their most important roles in life, while also criticising abortion and LGBT Pride.
Tatum said Butker was well within his rights to make such remarks and argued in favour of the Kansas City Chiefs kicker.

“I think we have conditioned women to believe they have to compete with men”, he said.
“Therefore, we see women going into the workforce. They’re spending a huge portion of their life chasing a nightmare that’s pitched to them as a dream.

“When they get to a certain point in life, you can say they’re in their mid to late 30s and they realise, ‘wow, I haven’t prioritised the thing that means the most to me’.
“At the end of the day, there is no glory in becoming a CEO. You have an ability and a God given blessing.
“The idea that you have to compete with the man, you have to go out and get in debt, you have to go out and become the CEO of a company and work every day, all day. But when the rubber hits the road, many of them feel unfulfilled.”
Tatum is adamant that when women “live the life” Butker attested to, they feel fulfilled as a result.

“I’m sure Harrison Butker’s wife will attest to this, and mine as well”, he said.
“Us working together in that structure that I believe God has ordained has allowed us both to become incredibly successful.”
In his 20-minute address earlier in the month, Butker told women graduates at Benedictine College, Kansas, that they had been told “the most diabolical lies”.
"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world," he said.
"But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world."
He has faced heavy criticism, with LGBT advocacy group GLAAD calling his speech “woefully out of step with Americans”.
Many social media users also criticised the star and thousands have signed a petition demanding his sacking.
The NFL also distanced itself from the matter, issuing a statement to say the comments were made in a “personal capacity”.
