Snowfall has been reported in other parts of Britain, with heavy blizzards causing disruption in northern areas.

The Met Office have reported wind chill temperatures of -6 degrees Celsius in rural areas, as the UK descends into winter.

While snow showers have affected Wales, the South East and the capital, it has also hit the majority of the UK's east coast.

The Met Office has forecast rain and sleet across several parts of the country, with the South West snow set to clear as the day progresses.

The snow that is affecting the North and the East will slowly become confined to Norfolk, as gales along the North Sea begin to ease.

Some of the coldest areas of the country have been hit hard by the affects of Storm Arwen, with thousands being left without power.

Winds have reached almost 100mph hit parts of northern England and Scotland, ripping down power lines, uprooting trees and causing debris blockages on roads.

Speaking in the House of Commons on Wednesday, UK Government Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng promised to do everything possible to restore power to homes affected by Storm Arwen before Christmas.
