Trains across the south east of England have been disrupted by a radio fault causing mass cancellations and severe delays for travellers today.
Several train companies are affected by the outage including CrossCountry, Gatwick Express, Great Western Railway, London Overground, Southern, South Western Railway, and Thameslink.
National Rail has described a fault with the system between the driver and the signaller, with passengers warned of major disruption and delays of up to 90-minutes.
The company claims the fault with the radio system has now been resolved, yet "some services may still be delayed by up to 90 minutes or cancelled whilst service recovers".
Gatwick Express has warned of delays for services running to and from London Victoria, adding "further disruption is likely", including cancellations.
Passengers currently travelling have been advised to listen to announcements throughout the day, and check station screens for the latest information.
Tickets can be used on alternative routes at no extra cost, the train company has confirmed.
South Western Railway also cautioned: "Our operations and engineering teams are working with signallers to find and fix the fault.

The operator advised passengers to consider using buses “while the fault is being investigated".
Meanwhile, Thameslink has said delays are likely for services running to and from Brighton, Horsham, and Three Bridges.

Southern Rail confirmed services to and from London Victoria are affected, as well as its West Coastway route between Brighton and Portsmouth/Southampton.
Southeastern have confirmed its services are unaffected by the earlier issue.
A statement reads: "We would like to confirm that the ongoing fault with the radio system between the drivers and the signallers affecting the South of England are not affecting our services, and there are no ongoing disruptions to our services."
