The UK’s largest supermarket offers exclusive price discounts to its most loyal customers

Tesco has issued a new warning to Clubcard customers as millions risk missing out on making the most of the benefits.

The supermarket confirmed shoppers have just over six weeks to spend certain Clubcard vouchers.

Many of the popular coupons will expire on August 31, leaving customers unable to use coupons thereafter.

In an email to many users of the loyalty service on Tuesday, Tesco said: “You have Clubcard vouchers that are about to expire.”

Clubcard holders can check if they need to use the vouchers via the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app.

Customers can scan QR codes on each voucher at the till to redeem their items.

Online shoppers can see vouchers in the coupon and voucher section at the checkout.

Tesco’s Clubcard scheme has been popular among customers since its introduction in 1995.

Around 20million customers benefitted from using Clubcards in 2021.

Each point is worth one pence to spend at Tesco, meaning 500 points becomes a £5 Clubcard voucher.

Tesco sends out vouchers automatically four times a year, provided customers have accumulated at least 150 points.

Tesco Clubcard points recently underwent a major change which would see rewards afforded to customers lowered.

The UK’s biggest supermarket announced in March that its Clubcard points will be worth twice their value when customers cash them in, rather than three times as they are now, from June 14.

Rewards ordered up to and including June 13 will continue to be valid for one year from the date of issue.

Customers could also previously gain one point for every £2 spent on fuel.

However, after June 14, the reward was lowered to one point for every two litres of fuel.
