Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman has heaped praise on Patrick Christys after his shocking GB News exposé in Calais.

Speaking on the People’s Channel, Braverman said Patrick exposed the "myth" that migrants awaiting passage across the English Channel are mostly fleeing persecution.

Braverman said recent protests that have erupted in Epping, Essex are justified given the concerns Britons have about the migrant crisis, and Patrick's investigation gives further credence to their qualms.

She watched GB News star Patrick Christys head to the French coast to find out just how stark the crisis is.

The former Home Secretary said Patrick's sting showed most of the individuals looking to cross the Channel are not fleeing persecution

“Patrick and GB News deserve a huge amount of credit for busting the myth on the reality of this migrant crisis”, she said.

“It just shows what a farce our asylum system has become. There are violent, organised criminals who are playing our system and making a lot of money on the backs of others to get into our country illegally.

“It’s not true to say all these people are vulnerable, persecuted individuals fleeing torture.

“No. What Patrick has shown is these are very determined, deliberate gangsters breaking our laws.”

Patrick’s trip to Calais saw him come face-to-face with an individual suspected of smuggling migrants across the Channel.

The explosive undercover exposé saw Patrick pose as a Vietnamese migrant seeking aid from the suspected trafficker.

He arranged a meeting with the individual who then refused to converse with Patrick once he found out his true intentions.

“Are you a human trafficker?”, he repeatedly asked the individual.

The person denied the suggestion before telling Patrick he does not understand English.

“That’s strange, you spoke English when you messaged me before, didn’t you?”, Patrick replied.

The GB News star headed to Calais amid fears Britain is on the brink of civil unrest with protests breaking out in Epping against asylum hotels.

Braverman told Dawn Neesom she has sympathy for those protesting, arguing it is not racist to be concerned about how your local community is changing.

“Families, dads, children are really furious about what is happening in Epping but it reflects a concern across the country, people are scared”, she said.

“People have had enough of illegal migrants breaking into our country and harming our women and girls and ruining our communities.

“That is not racist, that is honesty.”

Dawn put it to the former Home Secretary that her latter remarks will be regarded by many to be racist, but Braverman says this is just a form of gaslighting from leftists.

“That is a way to gaslight the British people and shut down debate, that is what the leftie establishment wants to do”, she said.

“They want to gag us into silence, but we need to stand up and keep calling out the truth. For as long as it’s peaceful, those protesters should have a right to express their very legitimate concerns.”

Braverman served as Home Secretary in two previous terms during the previous Conservative administration under both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.

She has long been outspoken on the need to protect Britain's borders and cut down on mass migration.
