Spider-Man: No Way Home has surpassed the global $1 billion dollar mark in box office earnings after studio estimates on Sunday reported an addition of $81.5 million dollars over the weekend.

Prior to Spider-Man's reign, MGM's James Bond sequel "No Time to Die," which grossed $774 million globally, stood as the highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2021 (and the pandemic).
The web-slinging blockbuster smashed the box-office in its December opening weekend making an estimated $600 million dollars worldwide.
It was beaten only by Avengers: Infinity War, which earned 640 million dollars worldwide, and Avengers: Endgame which earned $1.2 billion dollars.
According to Variety, the film cost $200 million dollars to make, and made $1.05 billion dollars in just 12 days as of Sunday.
The Marvel and Sony title stars Brit Tom Holland, who made it a hat-trick of Spider-Man productions, following previous films Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The actor from Kingston upon Thames appeared in the film alongside girlfriend Zendaya. Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina also made appearances in Marvel's latest blockbuster.
Further Spider-Man titles with Tom Holland have been rumoured, with producer Amy Pascal saying the film is"is not the last of our MCU movies".
Pascal told Fandango, "We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as 3 films, and now we're going onto the next 3".
