Sir Tim Rice has waded into the row over Disney's latest film - questioning whether the company should keep remaking its movies.
The author - who has collaborated with Disney previously on Aladdin, The Lion King and the stage adaptation of Beauty and the Beast - spoke out after the son of the original Snow White director called Disney a “disgrace.”
The new live-action version of Snow White has been in development since 2016 but production didn’t kick off in earnest until 2021.
Changes include the rebranding of the seven dwarfs, with the characters now being called “magical creatures”.

Rachel Zegler, who rose to fame with her film debut as Maria in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of West Side Story, is playing the role of the titular Princess.
She has stirred controversy by suggesting that the original storyline was no longer suitable for modern audiences.
Criticising the constant rewrites, Sir Tim Rice told GB News: “You have to take the views of today (into consideration) but I don't think you should be completely bound by them.
"I don’t think the 1937 Snow White is a bad film because it reflected and still reflects its time.

"It was sincerely made and extremely popular. The character Snow White is a good and nice person.
"But you can’t redo it now and why would you want to because it's already been done.
"My question is why in a way call it Snow White and why not make a new film with an exciting story?
"If it's a good story, well told, it should automatically reflect the views of today.”
