A two-year-old Collie has emerged "remarkably unscathed" after plummeting 100 feet down coastal cliffs.
The dog, named Whisp, landed on a rocky outcrop roughly above the terrifying rocky waters on the island of Shetland.
Sheer drops near Heylor in the island's north mainland meant his owner was powerless to help his beloved pet.
As the terrifying scenes unfolded around 11am on Thursday, Whisp’s owner made a desperate call to HM Coastguard to enlist their help.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene shortly after 11.10am to find the young Collie stranded on the narrow rocky platform.
However, near-vertical cliffs and hazardous terrain ruled out any attempt to reach him from the water below.
Deeming rappelling down was the only way to reach Whisp, the coast guard immediately established a rope rescue system at the clifftop.
A specialist technician then began the treacherous task of descending the cliff face, carefully navigating the sheer drop to reach the stranded pooch.

The complex operation required meticulous coordination, with rescue teams requiring intense focus to save Whisp and ensure the safety of the brave rescuer.
For three hours, the coastguard crew persevered with their rope equipment, gradually manoeuvring the Collie from his precarious perch back towards the clifftop.
By approximately 2pm, the rescue mission reached its successful conclusion.
Against all odds, Whisp emerged from his ordeal without injury, appearing remarkably content when reunited with his relieved owner.

Recounting the dramatic operation, a spokesman for HM Coastguard Orkney and Shetland confirmed: "The two-year-old collie was seen about 30m down the cliff, on a rocky ledge, making access from the seaward side impossible.
"The coastguard rescue teams set up our rope equipment and sent a rope technician over to retrieve Whisp," he explained.
The spokesman could also happily report that the pooch had come through the ordeal unharmed.
"Whisp was returned safe and well back to his owner, remarkably unscathed, and from our pictures, he looks very happy to be back with his owner," he shared.

The coastguard team expressed relief at the positive outcome, adding: "Thankfully, a happy ending for Whisp."
"Our coastguard Rescue Officers train hard for these types of incidents.
"If you see anyone in difficulty at sea or on the coastline, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard," the spokesman advised.
