A damning report detailing the abuse committed by Sara Sharif’s father is being hidden from the public due to concerns around her killer’s data protection rights.
A shocking review in November revealed social workers had evidence of Urfan Sharif’s “extensive” domestic abuse before he turned his attacks to his daughter, but it was “lost within the system".
Surrey County Council is now refusing to release the report over fears it would breach Sharif’s rights.
The council has denied access to the domestic abuse report under Freedom of Information laws, leaving Woking MP Will Forster furious.
He said: “This is absolutely appalling. This man is in prison for killing his daughter and Surrey County Council are concerned with data protection.
“If they cared as much about protecting vulnerable children, perhaps this would never have happened.
“This report was an opportunity to save her, but it was lost within the system. Now this is about ducking responsibility.”
He has called on the local authority to implement special measures.

Sara was killed in August 2023 after years of brutal physical abuse which left her with bruises, burns, human bite marks and more than 25 fractures.
She was found dead in a bunkbed at the family home after her father fled to Pakistan, leaving a handwritten note saying he had "lost it".
The full note, which was found on Sara’s body read: “Whoever see this note its me Urfan Sharif who killed my daughter by beating.
“I am running away because I am scared but I promise that I will hand over myself and take punishment.

“My daughter is Muslim. Can you burry (sic) her like Muslim may be. I will be back before you finish the postmortem.”
Sharif fled to Pakistan alongside his wife and accomplice Beinash Batool, before being extradited and sentenced to life imprisonment in December 2024.
The Daily Mail has also uncovered that the killer was given permission by the council to transport children with special education needs to school in his job as a taxi driver, despite reports to police regarding his violence against women and children.
The council granted the license, as information was not shared between the two departments.
A council spokesman said: "This request relates to the personal data of a living person.
“Data protection legislation determines what can and cannot be shared about a person's data and, as a public authority, Surrey County Council must observe all data protection principles when processing personal data.”
Council leader Tim Oliver added: “An independent safeguarding review was published last year.
“We are deeply sorry for the findings that related to us as a local authority. We take the findings with utmost seriousness.”
