Police officers descended on a Ryanair aircraft at Edinburgh Airport on Christmas Eve following reports that items had been stolen from a trolley during the flight.
The plane had travelled from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria before touching down in the Scottish capital on December 24.
When the aircraft landed, the pilot made an announcement over the tannoy urging whoever was responsible to hand back the goods.
The message made clear that if the items weren't returned voluntarily, every single passenger would face being searched individually before anyone could leave the plane.

A spokesman for the force said: "Around 4.15pm on Wednesday, 24 December, 2025, we received a report of items being stolen on a flight landing at Edinburgh Airport. Enquiries were carried out however the items were not recovered."
Photographs taken inside the cabin show multiple police officers making their way along the aisle, with some seen speaking to crew members as they investigated the alleged mid-air theft.
The stolen goods are believed to have been relatively modest – a packet of crisps, some fizzy drinks and a selection of chocolates from the onboard trolley.

Bags and suitcases were checked as police tried to track down the missing snacks and treats.
Despite the thorough search of both passengers and their belongings, the items remained elusive.
It turns out the mystery thief managed to keep their haul hidden, as none of the reported stolen goods were found during the police operation.
Edinburgh Airport chose not to comment on the incident, while it seems the culprit managed to escape without consequence.
