Armed police rushed to a college with pupils placed into lockdown conditions after a boy was injured in an alleged assault.
Sources say fireworks were also lit on the Reading College campus in Reading, Berkshire, during the incident today.
Thames Valley Police has urged the public to avoid the area.

A helicopter was spotted circling above the campus, according to the Reading Chronicle.
Thames Valley Police confirmed an arrest had been made after a boy was hurt in the attack this afternoon.
A force spokeswoman said: "We can confirm officers have made an arrest in connection with this incident.
"The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated in hospital.
"Officers are still in the area, so if you’re worried or have any questions, please feel free to speak to them.

“Contrary to media reports, this incident has not been categorised as a major incident by the force.”
A message displayed on a computer in a classroom at the college told pupils to enter lockdown conditions.
It read: "Please enter lockdown. This is not a drill.
"Please secure your rooms and keep students in."

GB News understands students have since been allowed to leave the college.
An automated message on the college’s phone line said this afternoon: "We are currently dealing with an incident at Reading College where one student has sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
"Their family have been informed. The police have been notified and are present.
"Please be reassured that all actions have been taken to ensure students’ safety."
The college, which is located close to Reading town centre, offers apprenticeships as well as adult learning and further and higher education courses.
