Dougie Beattie faced a fiery confrontation on GB News today while reporting live from a pro-Palestine demonstration in central London.
The People's Channel reporter attempted to question protesters about their motives and whether they supported the actions of Palestine Action and received no response, but one person who attended the demonstration repeatedly accused the GB News reporter of trying to “make them look stupid” and push a personal agenda.
The demonstrator insisted he was simply attending to listen and observe, while Dougie pressed on, highlighting the pressure the protests were putting on the Metropolitan Police and raising questions about the wider political implications.
Dougie Beattie asked the man at the protests: "Do you support what they’re doing here?

The man responded: "It’s not really about supporting what people are doing. You’re here for your own reasons, so I think what you’re trying to do is look for divisions and blame people."
The GB News reporter defended himself and said: "No, I’m looking to understand what people are thinking, why they’re here."
The demonstrator said: "It doesn’t matter everyone’s here for their own reasons, but I think what you’re trying to do is find things to blame these people for, make them look stupid, to push your own agenda."
Dougie responded: "No, definitely not. I’m here as a reporter to find out. If they don’t want to talk to me, there’s nothing more I can do."
The man fumed: "But you focus a lot on “oh, people don’t want to talk to us,” when you could just try to open a dialogue. You’re more interested in saying “no one wants to talk to us” because that’s more exciting for you."
“I’m genuinely asking: do you support what’s going on here?” Dougie said, as tensions rose.
Dougie then added: "I asked if you support it." The demonstrator said: "But that’s not really a question, support who?"
Dougie exhausted of the conversation pointed out: "Exactly, you’re talking in circles."
The man was angry and said: "I’m not talking in circles. You’re saying the same thing because you’re trying to find an angle to make me look stupid."
The exchange escalated when Dougie questioned whether stopping arms to Israel could put Britain at risk due to lost intelligence, to which the participant replied: “In danger of what?” before walking away.

The demonstration comes amid heightened tensions following the recent attack at a synagogue in Manchester where two people died.
The demonstrators, holding signs supporting the Palestine Action Group, ignored repeated attempts to answer questions, despite the arrest squads being in position nearby.
Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, both died and three others remain in hospital with serious injuries following the Manchester attack, which took place on Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day.
