The Duke of Sussex's comments came as he spoke out about last week's surprise meeting with the Queen

Prince Harry has taken a fresh dig at Britain during his latest television interview.

Speaking at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he, his wife Meghan Markle and their two children have been “welcomed with open arms” in the US.

And in an apparent rejection of his British roots, he added that he now considers the other side of the pond to be "home".

Harry said: “Home for me now, for the time being, is in the States and it feels that way as well.

“We've been welcomed with open arms and we have such a great community up in Santa Barbara.”

Harry was speaking just days after the couple made a surprise visit to the UK to visit the Queen and Prince Charles.

It was the first time the pair had visited Britain together in more than two years after making allegations of racism towards an unnamed royal in an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Speaking about the visit, Harry said: “Being with her, it was great. It was just so nice to see her, she's on great form.

“She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure she's protected and got the right people around her."

He told NBC's Today: “Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her."

After the trip to Windsor, the pair continued on to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.

The event began on April 16 and ends on Friday.

While Meghan has left The Hague and returned to the US, Harry looks set to remain at the event until its end.
