Finbar Sullivan was fatally stabbed atop the viewpoint on Tuesday

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 21-year-old was stabbed to death in north London last Tuesday.

Police have arrested another 25-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender after the horrific attack took place in the capital's Primrose Hill.

A murder investigation was first launched after Finbar Sullivan was fatally stabbed atop the viewpoint just after 6.30pm.

Both arrested individuals remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family who continue to receive support from specialist officers at this unimaginably difficult time.

"Although we have made two arrests, my officers continue to work around the clock to trace everyone involved.

"I’d like to thank the public who have come forward with information so far.

"If you are yet to speak to us, or share footage from Tuesday relating to this incident, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

"Anything you submit could have a huge impact on our investigation.

"In the meantime, residents can expect to see an increased police presence as dedicated local officers continue patrols in Primrose Hill and the surrounding areas," he added.

The Metropolitan Police previously requested any witnesses to come forward with information to help officials "piece together the sequence of events" which culminated in the 21-year-old student filmmaker's death.

Making the appeal on Friday, the force called for a "key witness" to come forward after a woman was seen filming the ordeal.

Mr Griffin said: "I believe this woman’s account of events, as well as the video she captured, will provide vital evidence.

"To reiterate, she has not committed any offence, but we are urging her, or anyone who may know her, to come forward and assist our investigation. We need to speak to her as soon as possible."

Emergency services were summoned to the scene at 6.41pm. Mr Sullivan was declared dead at the scene.

Another man was discovered close by on Regent's Park Road. While he was taken to hospital with knife wounds, his injuries are both non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

In the wake of his son's death, Mr Sullivan's "broken-hearted" father, Christopher, told the Daily Mail Finbar had planned to visit the London hotspot to test out a new camera he was gifted on his birthday.

Adding he was just a "groovy 21-year-old", he said: "This is the worst tragedy I could ever imagine. He’s my only son… I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced.

"I can’t believe it. He was the most beautiful, lovely, outgoing, loving boy. He was just a really lovely person."

The grieving father added his son had dreams of becoming a cameraman, just like his grandfather, who had been credited for work on Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Rambo III.
