Migrants are continuing to flock across the Channel in their droves

Watch the shocking moment Patrick Christys discovered a small boat, primed for a trip across the Channel, within seconds of arriving in Calais, France.

The GB News star reported from a river bank, just two miles away from the Channel, where he spotted a small boat filled with makeshift life jackets.

“They leave a little marker here - I don’t think this red cap on this plinth is here on accident”, Patrick said as he described the haphazard operation that goes into shipping boatloads of migrants to British shores.

“If we can have a look in this boat, you’ll see it’s got some makeshift life vests that look like old tyres and crucially, some fuel.

“Already, according to my source, two boats full of illegal immigrants have made their way down this river and into the English Channel.

“There’s a good chance this boat will end up in the Channel, if not, in Dover.”

Patrick said French authorities took one look at the boat before continuing their journey, remarking: “Is that where our money is going?”

The GB News star is spending 24 hours in Calais to gauge just how broken the migrant crisis is with British and French authorities continuing to fight a losing battle in their efforts to get a grip on it.

He spoke with migrants who brazenly declared “I’m going to England” where they hope to live “better lives”.

A Sudanese migrant told Patrick there is “no way” he will be deported once he illegally arrives in Britain.

The 28-year-old man is currently waiting in a migrant camp in Calais, France, hoping to make the perilous journey across the English Channel.

The migrant revealed he plans to enter the UK illegally after travelling through Italy and France from Sudan.

When asked if he was "scared" about travelling to Britain in a small boat, the migrant told Christys: "No, we don't have enough money, that's why we came here."

The migrant is one of many people waiting in Calais camps for an opportunity to cross the Channel.

Despite the dangers associated with small boat crossings, the man appeared determined to reach British shores.

He is among numerous migrants who have made the lengthy journey from Sudan through multiple European countries.
