In a separate fatal road incident, a 32-year-old man has died following a collision in Sheffield on Friday night.

South Yorkshire Police officers were dispatched to Savile Street East at 10.40pm on 24 April after receiving reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

A black Porsche Cayenne travelling away from the city centre collided with a Seat Ibiza, leaving both occupants of the Porsche with severe head injuries.

The 32-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, with police confirming his death and expressing condolences to those who knew him.

The 26-year-old man who was also travelling in the Porsche remains in hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Those inside the Seat Ibiza fared better in the collision, with both the driver and passenger sustaining only minor injuries.

Police have confirmed that the occupants of the Seat are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation into the fatal crash.

Officers are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam footage that may have captured either the collision itself or the movements of the vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident on Savile Street East.

South Yorkshire Police issued an appeal urging anyone with information or footage of the Sheffield collision to come forward and assist their investigation.

The force stated: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the collision or vehicles prior."

Meanwhile, the family of the six-year-old girl who died in Paisley have requested that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.

Investigations into both fatal incidents remain active, with officers continuing to piece together the circumstances that led to these weekend tragedies on roads in Scotland and South Yorkshire.
