A GB News viewer has spoken of his experience as he tried to complain about BBC bias to Ofcom

A GB News viewer has spoken of his fury after attempting to complain to Ofcom about BBC bias during an interview with Nigel Farage.

Speaking to the channel, and expressing his frustration, he explained: "As I long time viewer of GB News, I decided to complain to Ofcom about the BBC debate audience with Nigel Farage.

"They have recently changed the complaints process.

"They told me it’s just for the BBC and you can’t complain to Ofcom about the BBC until you have contacted the BBC directly and had a response.

"Only then if you wish to complain about the BBC can you do so to Ofcom. I told them that is wrong and biased. I find that disgusting and told them so. I said that should not be allowed to happen.

"I also complained to Ofcom about Ofcom regarding the ongoing issue they have with GB News and why it was only recently brought in about the amount of coverage broadcasters can give a new party."

The Information Commissioner's Office said: "You can complain directly to the BBC or, if you wish, raise your concern directly with Ofcom who will then assess your complaint against the Ofcom Broadcasting code.

"Ofcom does recommend trying to resolve the matter with the BBC directly before contacting them, and you cannot pursue your complaint with the BBC and Ofcom at the same time."

BBC Question Time was branded “appalling” after being accused of showing “cynical bias” as Nigel Farage faced a grilling from a “rigged audience” less than week before the election.

The Reform UK leader had voiced concern about not being included in the mainstream leaders' debate alongside Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer.
