The neighbour has repeatedly created significant access problems for the woman's vehicle

A resident has taken to social media to share her frustration over what she describes as deliberately obstructive parking by recently arrived neighbours at her flat complex.

The woman, who resides in a studio flat with one designated parking space, claims the couple are making it impossible for her to exit her spot.

The dispute began several weeks ago when the new tenants moved into a two-bedroom flat nearby.

According to the woman's Reddit post, she has experienced no difficulties with previous occupants of the property and maintains she parks correctly within her allocated space.

The woman reports that the wife positions her minivan unnecessarily close to her vehicle, whilst the husband regularly leaves his oversized truck in an unofficial parking area.

She explained on Reddit: "I was surprised when the wife parked her minivan extremely close to me for no reason and her husband parked his HUGE a** truck in a spot that's not an official parking spot right by me as well, and he parked it in a way where if I tried to back out I would hit him."

The male neighbour has repeatedly engaged in this behaviour, creating significant access problems for the woman's vehicle.

With an upcoming internship requiring early morning departures, the woman expressed anxiety about potentially needing to wake her neighbours at 5am to request they move their vehicles.

She told Reddit users: "I don't want to have to knock on their door at 5am to say 'move your big a** truck and your mini van crazies!' (of course I would never say it like that, I would be polite) but I don't know how to bring this up with these people at all."

She's contemplating bringing them a plant as a peace offering to establish better relations, fearing the situation could worsen without careful handling.

The woman believes her neighbours are deliberately targeting her through their parking choices, describing their actions as "bizarre and childish" despite minimal interaction between them.

Reddit users offered various solutions, with one recommending: "Take pictures and email them to your landlord. If he doesn't do anything then, find out your closest towing company is and ask them about towing your neighbours if they block you in."

Should this fail, residents can contact their local authority or seek Citizens Advice assistance.

The BTP adds: “If a person has blocked your driveway and is preventing you from getting your own vehicle out, we may be able to help. You can report antisocial behaviour online.”
