A road in the East Sussex village split the £1million cash prize between 10 winners

Several residents in the village of Catsfield in East Sussex have won £83,333 each in the People’s Postcode Lottery, with one lucky individual with two tickets cashing in £166,666.

There were 10 lucky winners on the road, who shared the £1million cash prize.

Steph Godfrey, 38, a nursery teacher, started buying the lottery tickets after hearing about a winner close by in Bexhill-On-Sea.

The winner, who had only recently moved to the road, plans to spend her winnings on a holiday for her 12-year-old son and eight-year-old daughter.

Ms Godfrey said: “I haven’t had them abroad yet. It will be amazing to take them on a plane. Somewhere exciting!”

Her daughter would like to go to Disney and her son would “love China”.

Mark Holman, 38 and his fiancé Laura Lansdale, who got engaged over Christmas are putting their winnings towards their wedding fund.

He said the money will now make the wedding “a bit more special” and that they intend to put the money towards “some nice food”.

The couple are also now able to go on a honeymoon due to their prize winnings, with their sights set on a trip to the United States.

Mr Holman said: “I did San Francisco to New York 10 years ago. I’d love Laura and our little boy to experience something special like that.”

John Fowle, and his wife, Janet Fowle, 73, have just celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in November and now, they have each won £83,333.

Mrs Fowle said she’ll spend the money on a new kitchen and “simple things” as they are “quite simple people”.

She said the win will make a “big difference”.

Mr Fowle described the amount of money as “remarkable” and thought he and his wife would never win, despite watching the Postcode Lottery adverts often.

He said: “Family will be one of the main considerations. It would be nice to help our daughter and son."

Both Mr and Mrs Fowle want to use the money towards the holiday, however, the couple have different destinations in mind.

Mrs Fowle said: “I’d like to go to Japan.”

Mr Fowle said: “I’d like to go on a cruise to see the Norwegian fjords.”

The People’s Postcode Lottery, regulated by the gambling commission, offers regular prizes through a postcode draw.

The lottery also supports charitable causes, with at least 30 per cent of each ticket going to charity.

This win meant Bexhill and Battle Foodbank (Churches Together in Bexhill), which partners with local churches has been awarded £40,000.
