The syndicate scooped the prize by matching five numbers and one lucky star

A National Lottery winner has admitted to making a "dazed" decision after realising she had won a share of a life-changing £3.6million.

Rhian Owen was part of the lucky syndicate of 16 people, many of whom have never met in person but will each claim £212,000.

Reliving the story, Owen said she saw an email telling her she won a prize, but did not think much of it.

She said: "I stopped outside a shop and decided to log in to my National Lottery account. I saw it said, 'claim your prize' - and when I scrolled down and saw all the numbers matched, I was in complete shock."

Owen made the dazed decision to go to work because she "did not know what else to do".

When on the phone to her sister, she said they "just could not stop screaming".

Owen shared the fantastic news with the rest of the syndicate group, known as The West is Best.

The Facebook group was filled with ecstatic reactions as the winners planned how they would spend their new fortunes.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Owen said: "I'm going to do up my house. I've also booked a family holiday in October and we're planning a bigger trip with all my sisters, brother, and parents.

"It's just incredible knowing we can do this together now."

Owen's former rugby coach, Wayne Jenkins, plans to go on holiday to Spain and gift his adult daughter some of the money.

A former colleague of Owen's, Nicola Butler, is preparing for a much-needed family holiday.

One of her sisters, Tracey Harry, is set to buy a campervan and support her three children.

Jayne Owen, Rhian's other sister, secured double the money by having two lines in the draw. With some extra cash, she's already invested in a campervan.

Owen's best friend, Liann Gregory, also plans on buying a campervan, as well as improving her home.

Lousie Fahey, another close friend, plans on using the money to invest in rental property and help out her children.

The syndicate won the prize by matching five numbers and one lucky star on one of the Euromillions £213million jackpots.

The prize was capped at the figure, meaning additional prize money from ticket sales rolled down to the next prize tier, boosting their winnings.
