A TikTok video has surfaced, appearing to show migrants partying in a suspected taxpayer-funded hotel room.
The rowdy clip was captioned with the Arabic phrase "alhamdulillah", meaning "praise be to God", alongside praying, Union Flag and party emojis.
In the footage, the group could be seen seated around an improvised buffet laid out on what looks like a bath towel, featuring popcorn, biscuits, sliced bananas, bottled water, Pepsi and Irn-Bru.
Several participants can be seen recording the gathering on their mobile phones while laughing and smiling, with some wearing wireless earphones.
The room's décor appears consistent with Holiday Inn Express properties, some of which have previously accommodated asylum seekers.
The TikTok account is understood to belong to a Sudanese man named Abubaker, whose posts suggest he resided in Egypt for five years before embarking on his journey to Britain.
His social media content indicated he was rescued from the Mediterranean Sea, with footage showing him aboard the Solidaire, a German-flagged NGO vessel that conducts migrant rescue operations.
Reports from the time indicate the ship docked in Genoa on May 16 after retrieving 263 migrants who had departed from Libya.

The precise circumstances of how the account holder ultimately reached Britain remain unclear.
A Home Office spokesperson stated: "We are furious at the level of illegal migrants and asylum hotels. This government will close every asylum hotel. Work is well underway to move asylum seekers into more suitable accommodation such as military bases, to ease pressure on communities across the country."
The department added it is collaborating with local authorities and property partners to accelerate this process.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has announced plans to end the government's obligation to support all destitute asylum seekers, with evictions from hotels expected to commence in spring.
